Assynt Photography Workshop

Price: £1,650 per person in a single room

Fitness: moderate, with some longer walks of up to around one hour
Join me for a week of landscape photography in Assynt and the wider north-west Highlands. We’ll work with mountains, lochs, remote beaches, rocky coastline and the rapidly changing autumn weather, choosing each day’s locations around the best available light.
Potential locations include Loch Assynt, Clachtoll, Loch Stack, Durness, Stoer Lighthouse, the Old Man of Stoer and a selection of quieter beaches and viewpoints. The exact itinerary remains flexible because conditions and safety come first.
Accommodation, food and transport
We’ll stay in a comfortable lochside house with private rooms. Breakfasts, packed lunches, evening meals and snacks are included, apart from alcoholic drinks. I’ll send a menu before the trip so dietary requirements and preferences can be planned properly.
Transport between locations is included in my van, with charging points available for camera and drone batteries. Collection from Inverness can be arranged, and you can use the contact page to ask about travelling with me from Norwich.

Booking and payment
Choose a single room or the twin-room option for two people sharing. Full payment is available through the website now.
The online £350-per-person deposit option will become available on 17 October 2026. The remaining balance will then be charged automatically to the same card on 19 September 2027, exactly 28 days before the trip starts.

What to bring
Bring a DSLR or mirrorless camera, spare batteries and memory cards, a useful range of lenses, a sturdy tripod, lens-cleaning kit, warm waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear. Filters are useful, but I have a spare set available to borrow.
If you are not fully familiar with your camera, bring the manual or download it to your phone before travelling. Do not rely on having an internet connection while we are out.
Weather, access and safety
Assynt is remote and October conditions can change quickly. Some locations involve uneven ground, exposed coast, muddy paths and longer walks. Locations will be adjusted when conditions require it, and safety always comes before a photograph.
