Private landscape photography tuition on the Suffolk coast

Spend five hours learning landscape photography at carefully chosen locations on the Suffolk coast. The session is tailored to your camera, experience and the photographs you want to make. You can book for yourself, come with a friend, or arrange a private group of up to five people.

At a glance

• Duration: 5 hours.

• Location: A pre-arranged Suffolk coast route chosen for the conditions and what you want to learn. We normally aim to work at two locations during the session, unless you would prefer to concentrate on one place or have something different in mind.

• Availability: Sessions can be arranged on any day of the week, with the date agreed after booking. Please allow around six weeks where possible.

• Experience: Suitable for beginners through to experienced photographers.

• Equipment available: I can lend you a sturdy tripod, landscape filters and suitable adapters by prior arrangement.

What we can work on

• Composition and working with changing natural light.

• Aperture, shutter speed, ISO, focusing and metering.

• Planning photographs around weather, tides and location conditions.

• Long exposures and choosing suitable ND filters.

• Calculating exposure times and checking results in changing light.

• Reviewing images and discussing practical editing decisions.

What to bring

Bring your camera, charged batteries, memory cards, suitable lenses, weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear, food and drink, and a way to pay for parking if required. Bring your tripod, cable release and filters if you own them, but ask before buying equipment specifically for the session because I may be able to lend what you need.

If you are not completely familiar with your camera, bring its manual or download an offline copy to your phone before the day. Some coastal locations have weak or no mobile signal, so do not rely on being able to look it up online during the session.

Travel to the agreed starting point, food and drink, and camera or personal-accident insurance are not included.

How booking works

Choose the attendee option and book online. After payment, email info@dibsphotography.com so we can agree a suitable date, route and equipment. I will send the final meeting point, timing and practical details two to three days before the workshop.

Please review the current booking and cancellation terms at https://www.dibsphotography.com/workshop-information before booking.

If you are unsure whether this is the right workshop for you, email me before purchasing.

Bespoke workshops

If you have a particular Suffolk location, another part of Norfolk or a destination further afield in the UK in mind, I can build a bespoke workshop around it. Email info@dibsphotography.com with the location, number of people and what you would like to learn, and I will put together a suitable package and price. The advertised workshop prices cover locations in Suffolk. Travel and, where needed, accommodation for workshops farther afield are quoted separately in advance.
