Moray Coast and Landscape Photography workshop

Saturday 3rd April 2021

6 am till 11 am

Five attendees

The Moray Coast Landscape Photography workshop is another fantastic location packed session I have decided to run.

As a teen, I grew up playing on this coastline, exploring the coast and other hidden spots further inland.

This workshop is for anybody who has a fundamental understanding of the manual controls on their DSLR/CSC camera, right through to people who know how to use their camera and just want to improve their photographic practice.

Where will the workshop start?

We will start at a predetermined location on the Moray coast for sunrise at 6 am.  For your reference, I will use Elgin as a central point.

How do I teach on the Moray Coast and Landscape Photography workshop?

Throughout the session, we will be discussing the theory behind creating work, what stands out and what sells, what makes a fabulous looking image and how can we get that image we see into our cameras. This knowledge comes off the back of many years of commercial photography experience and time spent studying photography to a masters degree level.

The workshop is full of landscape photography tuition out on location on the coast, followed by a Cafe brunch and finishing with a second location offering different photographic challenges.

The session will focus on the landscapes in the well-known areas of the local area.

As an excellent small-group session, so you know you will get all the help that is needed to maximize your learning from the day.

The day will work around your individual needs, so in brief, you will have somebody to show you what to look out for in creating those perfect images before you have even got the camera out of the camera bag.

By the end of the session you have a full understanding of what all the setting on your camera do and get you away from shooting automatic modes, you will be taking control of your camera and the settings and letting the creativity start to flow.

What experience do I have as a tutor?

I previously spent over four years teaching and writing workshops for all levels and ages of photographers for the countries biggest photographic retailer Wex Photo Video.

As one of the ambassadors for Formatt-Hitech filters, a UK based, yet one of the worlds largest landscape filter companies, they fully support me in my work and passing on the knowledge of photography as I meet their high standards of excellence through my sessions.

I spent five years studying landscape and architecture photography to Masters degree level with some of the best mentors and tutors the country has.

I have worked closely with schools offering mentoring to a wide range of ages of students.

I have also picked up a few awards along the way, and I have exhibited and been published worldwide, just check out my Shows and Awards page.

Further workshop information.

Please bring along snacks and drinks as due to the locations we will be shooting having limited facilities. There will not be the guarantee of a shop being nearby at all times.

We will stop for a hot drink and a bite to eat at some point throughout the day, unfortunately, to keep costs down this is not covered in the workshop cost.

I will be able to lend you a full set of Professional filters; it is the same kit I use for creating my work.

You will use and get hands-on experience with the Formatt Hitech Filters used for landscape photography and how to use them correctly and what filters to use to create specific effects.

But if you are interested in landscape photography, I would encourage you to invest in a more substantial setup. I can advise you in what kit to get as it can be a little daunting looking at what you may or may not need.

I also have a discount code for buying filters.

You can get an automatic 10% of all filters on the Formatt-Hitech Filters site by using the code DIBSM10 at the checkout.

I will email you all the specific details about locations after booking,  but if you have any questions before booking, then please do get in contact.
